OnlineTakeoff is a remake for the desktop application PlanSwift. It was remade as a web application from scratch. The application allows users to upload large images of architectural drawings and it gives them the ability of annotating drawings with lines, points, areas and notes. The back-end performs high quality image processing and manipulation to keep formats and sizes consistent with Adobe Flex 3 and to minimize network overhead at the same time. The front-end allows users to draw basic shapes with different highlights and labels to mark places in the drawing such as kitchen, doors and walls. They can then make estimation for the cost of painting the walls, polishing the bed room floor … etc.
